Embracing every moment of Momma-hood has evoked my penmanship into a series of silly mindful children's stories... created from the wild genre at my fingertips.

It always starts out with a beverage of some kind, then what follows is some kind of author/illustrator magic that carries Taryn DeGraff and me through this fast-moving pace of creating a 13 book series on family... Of course, for me, the family lends itself to all of the creative content.

With four children varying in age from 3 to 21 years of age, the material is never-ending and certainly a wild genre unto itself. Sitting with Taryn, collaborating, watching her with her various shades of pencils, bringing all these special characters to life... quite frankly, it’s spellbinding for someone who can barely draw a stick person. 

Being involved in this project is somewhat like a soulful meditation, all of my senses get inspired and at the end of the day, a book exists that never did before. We laugh so much and I can honestly say that in high school, we would've passed each other in the halls - perhaps a quick glance in each other's direction - but I doubt I would have ever been lucky enough to know what an unbelievable talent she is.

So, thank goodness for adulthood where wild visions of grandeur on being a writer have shifted into a delightful reality, with a gifted artist who has made this project such a special part of my life.
